QUOTE FOR THE WEEK 14-11-08

One of the most serious problems in the church is that men are looking to men, and not to Christ. Many of today's Christians are so impressed with the reputation of well-known preachers and evangelists and dazzled by their style, that they are inclined to drop their guard and abandon discernment. For example, when the teaching is given by one who may have a PhD in theology, an eloquent preaching style, an air of humility, and a considerable reputation, it can all too often be enough to convince most of today's Christians that the message comes from God. It very often does not.
